Hurricanes 1st After Round One At Full Moon BBQ Invitational

CALERA, Ala.- The nationally ranked Georgia Southwestern men's golf team sits in first place after Round 1 on Monday at the  Full Moon BBQ Invitational hosted by the University of Montevallo the Timberline Golf Club.

Hayes Dupree shot three birdies before hole seven to leads GSW on the par-70, 6651 yard course with a 68 and is currently tied for third individually on the 48-player field. Dupree is only two strokes back from the leader, Wes Cain from Montevallo who shot a 4-under par 66.

Ethan Chamineak is tied for sixth with a 1-under par score of 69. Nicholas Ward sits tied for tenth with an even par. Both Anders Olsson and Tyler Barker are tied for 19th with scores of 73. Fraser Johnston played as an individual for the Canes and is tied for 16th with a 2-over par 72.

GSW leads the nine team field with an even par 280. Young Harris is three strokes back taking second after Round 1 and Lee University is third with a 285.

GSW wraps up play Tuesday morning for Round 2 with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
