Golf Moves To 14th In NCAA DII

AMERICUS, Ga.- The Nationally Ranked Georgia Southwestern men's golf team has moved up three spots and is now ranked 14th in NCAA Division II and fourth in the Southeast Region in the recent Golfstat Relative Ranking that came out on Wednesday.

Ethan Chamineak is ranked 22nd in NCAA DII and third in the Southeast Region with a scoring average of 71.76. Chamineak has played in six tournament this season and has three Top-10 finishes including a tie for second at the Montevallo Invitational and placing second at the Newberry College Invitational.

Nicholas Ward has played in six tournaments to record a scoring average of 73.12 which ranks him 65th in NCAA DII and 14th in the Southeast Region. Ward has two Top-10 finishes; he tied for ninth at the UNG Fall Invitational and tied for eighth at the Newberry College Invitational.

Hayes Dupree has two Top-10 finishes in the six tournaments he has played in this season. He tied for ninth at the Montevallo Invite and tied for seventh at the McDounough Cup. Dupree is ranked 83rd in NCAA DII and 24in the Southeast Region with a scoring average of 73.65.

Two other Peach Belt Conference schools join GSW in the Top 25 NCAA DII including USC Aiken at No. 9 and Flagler at No. 11.

Chico State moved up one spot and is now ranked first followed by Saint Leo University while defending National Champions Nova Southeastern is 4th.

The Hurricanes are back on the links Sunday March 13th for the Southeastern Collegiate tournament hosted by Valdosta State at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta, Ga.
