Olsson And Ward Named To PBC All-Academic Men's Golf Team

AMERICUS, Ga.- Georgia Southwestern men's golfers Anders Olsson and Nicholas Ward have both received the Peach Belt Conference men's golf All-Academic honors and were named to the All-Academic Team on Wednesday.

The All-Academic team is part of a season-long program recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of PBC student-athletes in the classroom as well as on the field.

To be eligible for the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must 1) participate in at least half of his/her team's events and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and 3) completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution.

This will be Olsson's third year as a PBC All-Academic honoree. He has been a PBC Presidential Honor Roll Gold Scholar the last three years as well. As a junior Olsson was named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar by the Golf Coaches Association of America and was a member of the 2014-15 All-Academic team from the Golf Coaches Association of America.

The Senior Smyrna, Ga. native has played in eight tournaments this year and just broke the GSW career record for most rounds played with 109.

Ward will pick up his second appearance on the PBC All-Academic team and he has been a Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll Gold Scholar the past two years. As a sophomore Ward was an All-American honorable mention, selected to the Division II PING All-Region Southeast Team, PBC All-Conference Second Team and a member of the 2014-15 All-Academic team from the Golf Coaches Association of America.

The junior Eastbourne, England has played in all nine tournaments this season and has three Top-10 finishes.
