Hurricanes Streak In NCAA DII Top 25 Continues

AMERICUS, Ga.- The Georgia Southwestern men's golf team has been nationally ranked in the NCAA Division II Top 25 for 539 consecutive days.

The Hurricanes are ranked 16th in the recent Bushnell Golfweek Division II Coaches Poll that came out Friday and 19th in the latest Golfstat Relative Rankings Report which came out Wednesday. GSW has played in 10 tournaments and have nine Top 10 finishes including two tournament wins.

Ethan Chamineak is ranked 24th in NCAA DII and sixth in the Southeast Region with a scoring average of 72.34. Chamineak has played in 10 tournaments with 29 rounds and has five Top 10 finishes, his recent being a tie for second at the Peach Belt Conference Championship.

Nicholas Ward is ranked 80th in the counrty with a 73.83 scoring average. Ward has played in 10 events with 29 rounds and three Top-10 finishes.

Three other Peach Belt schools join GSW in national rankings including USC Aiken at 11th in the Bushnell Poll and 13th in Golfstat, Flagler at 12th in both reports and Columbus State at 19th in the Bushnell Poll and 25th in Golfstat.

Chico State is at the top of the list in both the Bushnell Coaches Poll and Golfstat while defending national champions Nova Southeastern is ranked sixth in both.

The Hurricanes will find out Friday night if they receive an at-large selection for the upcoming NCAA South/Southeast Regional on May 2-4 at El Campeon in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
