Golf Program Earns National All-Academic Distinction

AMERICUS - The Georgia Southwestern men's golf team has earned All-Academic distinction from the Golf Coaches Association of America for the 2015-16 school year. It's the third consecutive year GSW has earned the national honor.

A record 208 teams, covering NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA, submitted GPAs of 3.00 or higher to earn All-Academic Team recognition. The Hurricanes were one of only 42 programs in NCAA Division II, and one of two from the Peach Belt Conference, to earn the honor.

Embry-Riddle Prescott (NAIA) posted the highest overall team GPA for all divisions with a 3.787.

To be eligible for the GCAA All-Academic Team a college or university must submit the GPAs for each player on its official squad list for the academic year.
