Norrman Named PBC Golfer of the Week

AMERICUS, Ga. -- Georgia Southwestern State University sophomore golfer Vincent Norrman has been named Peach Belt Conference men's golfer of the week as announced by the league Thursday.

Norrman ran away with individual medalist honors at the Hurricane Invitational this week, shooting a two-round score of 134 (-10). He broke the 18-hole and 36-hole GSW scoring records in the tournament and beat runner-up Nick Woof of Clayton State by six shots.

Norrman broke the 18-hole record of 65 previously shared by Craig Gibson and Michael Harris with a Round 1 score of 64 (-8). Gibson recorded a 65 at the 2009 Aflac/Cougar Invitational and did it again at the 2011 Bobcat Intercollegiate. Harris shot a 65 at the 2008 GSW Hurricane Classic.

Norrman broke the 36-hole record of 136 previously held by Adam McKenny with a two-round score of 134 (-10). McKenny set the previous record at the 2008 Coker College Invitational.

He is the 13th Peach Belt Golfer of the Week in GSW history. Ethan Chamineak was the last Hurricane to win the award on March 16, 2017.
