Hurricanes NCAA Bound; Will Face Loaded Field In Regional

AMERICUS, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern State University golf team is headed to the NCAA DII South/Southeast Regional Championship played at Rock Barn Country Club in Conover, N.C. May 7-9. 

The Hurricanes are coming off a fifth place finish at the Peach Belt Conference Championship April 13-15 at the Slammer & Squire Golf Course in St. Augustine, Florida. Five Peach Belt teams were selected to the Regional including conference champion USC Aiken along with Columbus State, Lander and Young Harris. 

The Top 11 teams in the country according to the Golfstat.com DII Relative Rankings will all be at the South/Southeast Regional, led by No. 1 ranked University of West Florida. In all, 16 of the Top 25 teams across the country will take on the course at Rock Barn Country Club. 

This is the fifth time in the Georgia Southwestern NCAA DII era the Hurricanes have made regionals after being selected in 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2016. Four of the appearances have come under current Head Coach Darcy Donaldson (13', 15', 16', 18').
