ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- No. 11 Georgia Southwestern golf team had a tough Day one during the opening round of the Peach Belt Conference Men's golf Championship. The Hurricanes shot 12-over 300 at the par 72, 6,939 Slammer & Squire golf course Friday evening as they sit in ninth place.
Saksit Jairak leads the Hurricanes in 17th place shooting one-over 73 followed by Simon Estrada, who's tied in 20th place with a two-over 74. Jaxson Daskalos opened with a four-over 76 and is tied in 36th place while Jack Tharrington shot a five-over 77 and Chase McLain shot a six-over 78 for 39th and 41st place.
Lander holds the top three spots in individuals as Chris Fortenberry leads the pack with a six-under 66. Maxime Legros, Linus Jonsson and Peter Chung of Young Harris are all tied in second place with a four-under 68 followed by Leo Johansson of USCA and David Frank of Young Harris, who sits tied in fifth place with a three-under 69.
No. 25 Lander leads the pack with an opening round of 16-under 272. Ten strokes out is No. 12 Young Harris with a six-under 282 followed by third place No. 5 USC Aiken with a one-over 289. No. 14 Georgia College and No. 10 Columbus St. is tied in fourth place with a four-over 292.
The Hurricanes will tee off for Round 2 of the PBC Championship at 8 a.m.
