GREENWOOD, S.C. -- The eighth-ranked Georgia Southwestern men's golf team posted a 6-under 282 and finished 7th of 18 teams in the final round of the Bearcat Fall Invitational hosted by Lander University. The 18-team tournament played at the par-72, 7,073-yard Forest Hills Golf Club features five programs ranked in the top 25 of NCAA Division II according to the latest Golf Coaches Association of America rankings.
Erik Fogel finished the day 1-under par 72 and he finished the tournament 7-under par tied for 6th. Fogel ran into some trouble on the front nine he shot two consecutive bogeys but then found his groove pared two holes on the front nine and finished even. He birdied a hole on the back nine ending his day at 1-under 209.
Marco Trstenjak shot a 2-under for the day he birdied two holes on the front nine and two holes on the back nine he ended the tournament 2-over finishing tied for 27th.
Jack Tharrington made the biggest jump on the day he birdied three holes on the front nine and two on the back nine he completed his day 4-under par and jumped 24 spots finishing tied for 21st in the tournament.
No. 6 North Georgia won the invitational finishing 22-under par nine strokes ahead of second place Columbus State.
The Hurricanes will compete in the Mizuno Intercollegiate hosted by North Georgia on Tuesday.
