GAINESVILLE, Ga. -- The eighth-ranked Georgia Southwestern men's golf team posted a two-round total of 577 to finish 1-over-par on Monday and finish the day in sixth place at the UNG Mizuono Intercollegiate hosted by North Georgia. The 17-team tournament played at the par-72, 7,166-yard Chattahoochee Golf Club features eight programs ranked in the Top 25 of NCAA Division II according to the latest Golf Coaches Association of America rankings.
Payne Sells led the Hurricanes with a two-round total of 138 to sit tied for third place in the 100-player field heading into Tuesday's final 18 holes.
Marco Trstenjak posted two rounds of 72, and 71 to finish the day tied for 17th. Erik Fogel finished two strokes back of Trstenjak with a score of 145
No. 11 North Lincoln Memorial currently leads at 20-under-par and has an eight-stroke lead over second-place North Georgia.
The final round begins at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
