GAINESVILLE, Ga. -- The eighth-ranked Georgia Southwestern men's golf team posted a 3-under 285 and finished 4th of 17 teams in the final round of the Mizuno Intercollegiate hosted by the University of North Georgia. Played at the par-72, 7,166-yard Chattahoochee Golf Club, the event featured seven programs ranked in the Top 25 of NCAA Division II according to the latest Golf Coaches Association of America rankings.

Payne Sells finished the day 1-under par 72 and he finished the tournament 7-under par which earned him a fourth place finish. Sells had an overall great performance he pared on every hole except for the ninth hole on the front nine. He birdied two holes on the back nine and never shot less than par on the other holes.

Marco Trstenjak had a great tournament as well he shot a 3-under on the day he birdied three holes on the front nine and two holes on the back nine he ended the tournament 4-under finishing tied for ninth place.

The duo of Sells and Trstenjak combined to play the par 4 holes at 10-under for the week, with both men at 5-under, which led the field.  

Erik Fogel finished his day 1-over he birdied one hole on the front nine and bogied on three holes but still performed very well finishing the tournament tied for 25th. 

The biggest improvement was from Jack Tharrington he climbed 20 spots and finished the day even par and finished the tournament 7-over which was tied for 53rd.

No. 11 Lincoln Memorial won the invitational finishing 27-under par 11 strokes ahead of No. 6 North Georgia.

The Hurricanes will compete in the Cateechee Invitational hosted by Lander University Oct. 2-3.
