Vick Makes School History

AMERICUS - Georgia Southwestern men's soccer senior defender Ethan Vick was recently named to the Capital One Academic All-District Team.

The 2011 All-District award is the latest in a career filled with academic accolades for the Coolidge native. Vick recently became a three-time Peach Belt Conference All-Academic award-winner, and is on pace to be named to the PBC Presidential Honor Roll for a fourth-consecutive year.

A two-time GSW student-athlete of the year recipient, Vick becomes GSW's first Academic All-District selection in the school's NCAA era.

Vick appeared in 13 games this season and tallied 58 games played in his career. He will graduate with a degree in Accounting and has a GPA of 3.84.

Student-athletes are nominated for Capital One Academic All-District consideration by current College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) members. Voting for Academic All-District is done by current CoSIDA members in players' respective districts. Those who obtain All-District status move onto the national All-Academic ballot; these national awards are voted upon by Academic All-America Committee members and current CoSIDA Board of Directors.
