AMERICUS - Georgia Southwestern State University head men's soccer coach Warren Russ has released the program's 2014 schedule that features nine matches at home and eight away from the confines of Hurricane Field.

The Blue & Gold open 2014 season with a home opener against Faulkner University on Sept. 4th. GSW leads the all-time series with the Eagles 3-0. The Hurricanes then take a short trip to Southeastern University in Florida on Sept. 6th. The two schools are tied one-all in the all-time series, but the two schools haven't met since 2011.

Five of the next six matches will be held at Hurricane Field starting with Brewton-Parker College (on Sept. 10). The Hurricanes then open Peach Belt Conference play against UNC Pembroke (Sept. 13). Thomas University is next on the ticket on Sept. 17.

The Hurricanes then hit the road to play 2014 NCAA Sweet 16 qualifier Lander University on Sept. 20.

The Hurricanes continue their home stretch with two more non-conference games against Florida College (Sept. 26) and Middle Georgia State College (Sept. 28). GSW leads Florida College 2-0 in their all-time series. This will be the Hurricanes first meeting against Middle Georgia State College.

Coach Russ & Co. open October with seven consecutive PBC games. The Hurricanes start the month on the road against Flagler (Oct. 1), who made a 2013 NCAA apperance. The next two matches are to be held at Hurricane Field against USC Aiken (Oct. 4) and North Georgia (Oct. 11). GSW is then on the road against, 2014 PBC Champions, University of Montevallo (Oct. 15) and Young Harris College (Oct. 18).

The final home match for the Hurricanes will be on Oct. 22 against Clayton State.

The final regular-season road trip will begin with the last PBC match against Francis Marion on the 25th and then end with two non-conference matches against Point University (Oct. 28) and Spring Hill (Nov. 1). This will be GSW and Points first time meeting.
