GREENWOOD, S.C. - The Georgia Southwestern men's soccer team matched its season low with only three shots Saturday afternoon in an 8-1 loss to Lander University at Van Taylor Stadium.

The season ends for the Hurricanes with an overall record of 2-12-1 and a 1-8 mark in Peach Belt Conference play while the regular season PBC champions from Lander improved to 12-3, 9-0 in the conference. The eight goals allowed is the most against the Hurricanes since 2007 when No. 3 West Florida defeated GSW, 9-1.

Lander scored the first of its five first-half goals in the 12th minute and never looked back. Puria Masoumi Far accounted for a pair of goals in the opening 45 minutes and added an assist to start the second half.

John Clark Auer prevented the Bearcats from posting a clean sheet when he punched in his first collegiate goal in the 84th minute off an assist from Shane Madray

Lander finished with a 14-2 shots on goal advantage and a 2-0 edge in corner kicks.

Joshua Swift made six saves for GSW and Dean Cowdroy stopped one of the two he faced for Lander.
