Salamatou Earns Men's Soccer PBC Player of the Week

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Georgia Southwestern State's men's soccer player Chris Salamatou earned the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week award after scoring one goal and assisting on the second as GSW defeated #14 Young Harris 2-1, Tuesday night.

The sophomore from Niort, France, scored the first goal of the game less than five minutes in as he blazed down the middle of the field and was in the perfect spot to receive a pass from Matteo Landais and one-touched it into the net. He then provided an assist on what would prove to be the game-winning goal as he found Mohammed Amine Mahrous with a hard cross. Salamatou is tied for second in the PBC in goals and assists and is second in points.

Salamatou, who is the third Hurricane to earn this award and second this season, leads GSW with 10 total points. He has three goals and four assists.
