GSW Offense Solves the Embry-Riddle

AMERICUS, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern State University men's soccer team defeated Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, 3-0, Saturday night at Hurricane Field. GSW improved its record to 2-1 this fall with the win as Embry-Riddle dropped its second consecutive match to fall to 1-2.

The first half was back and forth when freshman Nicholas Sciarra off a pass from Jack Malleret put one in the back of the net in the 23rd minute putting the Hurricanes on the board and in the lead.

The scoring grinded to a halt for 50 minutes when Salamatou in the 79th minute scored his first goal of the season to give the Hurricanes a little more breathing room with just 11 minutes left in the game. Matteo Landais, who assisted on Salamatou's goal, finished the game off with a goal assisted by Jack Malleret to put the Hurricanes up 3-0 and to ice the game.

The Hurricanes will take on Flagler College at Hurricane Field in their Peach Belt Conference opener on Sept. 15 at 7:30 p.m.
