AMERICUS, Ga. — The Georgia Southwestern men's soccer team defeated USC Aiken for the second time this year 2-1. The game was tight throughout and was a very physical battle on both sides.
The Hurricanes took an early lead on a header by Mohammed Amine Mahrous in the 30th minute. His first goal of the year came off a cross into the box by Jose Menteagudo.
The Pacers battled back and responded in the 64th minute on a defensive miscue by the Hurricanes. Cole Davison put the Hurricanes right back on top with the game winning goal in the 66th minute.
The Hurricanes look to make history Wednesday at 5 P.M. on the road against Clayton State. A win over Clayton State would give the 2021 Hurricanes the record for most wins in a season.
