ATLANTA - The Georgia Southwestern men's tennis team fell to Division I Georgia State University, 7-0, on Sunday evening at the Sharon Lestern Tennis Center at Piedmont Park.
GSW's record drops to 3-5 overall, while Georgia State won its seventh-straight match and improves to 11-2.
The Hurricanes fell behind 1-0 after doubles action (the team that wins at least two-of-three doubles matches earns the one point credited in the team tally in Division I tennis) and were swept in singles play by the Panthers.
Southwestern's Jake Koonce played the closest singles match at No. 5, losing to Michael Vallejo 6-3, 6-3.
The Hurricanes resume Peach Belt Conference play on Tuesday with a 1 p.m. match at No. 3 Armstrong Atlantic.
