Nielsen Leads GSW at GMC Brickyard Invitational

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. — Lars Nilsen led the Georgia Southwestern State University men's cross country team in the first race of the fall, at the GMC Brickyard Invitational, on Friday evening. Nilesen paced the Hurricanes by completing the 8K course at Council Farms in 35:55.70, to take 58th place out of 87 competitors.

Alexander Mejia Lopez crossed the finish line second for GSW on Friday with a time of 35:56.50, good for 59th place. Jacob Rose (44:06.50) and Alexander Hooper (44:06.70) followed for the Hurricanes in 75th and 76th respectively.

The Hurricanes finished with 290 points, 62 behind ninth-place Clark Atlanta.

Brian Kemei from Morehouse crossed the finish line first overall with a time of 25:21.30
