Mejia Lopez Leads The Canes At The GSW Bash

AMERICUS, Ga. — Alexander Mejia Lopez led the Georgia Southwestern State University men's cross country team at the GSW Bash, on Friday morning. Mejia Lopez paced the Hurricanes by completing the 8K course at Sumter County Parks & Recreation Highway 19 Sports Complex  in 32:35.6, to take ninth place out of 19 competitors.

Lars Nilsen crossed the finish line second for GSW on Friday with a time of 38:45.3, good for 11th place. Alexander Hooper finished right behind in 12th with a time of 38:45.5 Gregory Crapp 42:24.1 and Kaleb Hudson 46:20.0 followed for the Hurricanes in 16th and 17th respectively.

The Hurricanes finished with 60 points, 38 behind winner Shorter University.

Brian Kipkosgei from Shorter crossed the finish line first overall with a time of 25:31.7
