AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference has announced its 2012 Softball All-Conference teams, and the Georgia Southwestern Lady Hurricanes' second baseman Mason Moreland was recognized by her peers. The sophomore from Fort Valley was named the 2012 PBC All-Conference Second Team.

Moreland finished the season with a batting average of .320 with 13 runs batted in, 39 runs scored, 22 walks, four triples and 22 stolen bases in her 48 games of action, which led the team in five of those six categories.

Those numbers would hold up within the Peach Belt Conference as well. Moreland was in the top ten in the conference in runs scored, triples, walks, and stolen bases. Her in-conference statistics were perhaps even more impressive as she batted .367 against Peach Belt pitchers, which was the fifth highest average in that category in the conference.

The second baseman has wasted no time shredding all-time records of the young Georgia Southwestern softball program. With three stolen bases on the last day of the season against UNC Pembroke, Moreland became the program's all-time leader in stolen bases (33) in the Division II era in just two seasons.

She is the third-ever Lady Hurricane to receive All-Conference post season accolades in the program's six seasons as a NCAA Division II and Peach Belt Conference member. Nichole Griffin was named First-Team All-PBC in 2011 and Gabby Buck was named Second-Team All-PBC in 2009 and 2010.
