McElroy Recieves Peach Belt Honors

AMERICUS, Ga.- Georgia Southwestern senior Rachel McElroy was named to the 32-member  Peach Belt Conference softball All-Conference team Thursday in Milledgeville, Ga., site of the PBC 2015 softball tournament championship. The 32 softball players were placed on first and second teams. McElroy was selected as a second team selections.

The PBC All-Conference team is selected by the coaches and is comprised of a Player of the Year, Pitcher of the Year, Freshman of the Year, 16 first-team All-Conference selections and 16 second-team All-Conference selections.

This is McElroy's second time being named to the PBC softball All-Conference Team; her first time being in 2013 as a sophomore.

McElroy has appeared in 196 games and started 194 of them during her four-year GSW career and tallied a .297 batting average over that time. McElroy finished her softball career at GSW recording 160 hits, 76 runs, 29 doubles, one triple, 11 home runs and 92 RBI's.

McElroy has recorded multiple achievements in her first three years (2011-2014) at GSW to put her in the programs record book 12 times including; third for most RBI's with 56 in a career, third for most doubles in a career with 22, fourth for most total bases in a career with 152 and fourth for most hits in a career with 115.

Her senior year has proven to be her best with 45 hits, 26 runs, seven doubles, one triple, six home runs and 36 RBI's.
