WEST PALM BEACH, Fla- The Georgia Southwestern softball team is now 7-5 after falling to Palm Beach Atlantic but beating Nova Southeastern in day two of the Sailfish Showdown Softball Tournament hosted by Palm Beach Atlantic University.

GAME 1: GSW 1, PBA 4

PBA scored three runs in the first, two off a double and one off an error to take a 3-0 lead.

Bri Lewis was up to bat first for GSW in the bottom of the second and hit a homer to put the Lady 'Canes on the scoreboard.

PBA hit a home run of their own in the third and brought in two to take a 5-1 lead.

In the bottom of the third Hayley Tierce scored her third home run of the season and GSW's second and last run of the game.

PBA scored two more in the fifth and one in the seventh to win 8-2.

GSW's finished with four hits, two runs, two RBIs and two errors.

Haley Goodson (2-3) pitched six innings, had 12 hits, seven runs, walked zero and struck out one.

Kaley Sikes pitched one inning, had one hit, one run, walked one and struck out zero.

GAME 2: GSW 7, NS 3

Nova Southeastern scored first in the bottom of the third to lead 1-0. The Lady 'Canes rallied and brought in five runs in the fourth to take a four run advantage.

Lewis scored off a single from Erin Steele who advanced to third on a throwing error and scored on a wild pitch.

Tierce hit a double to left senter and brought in Rebekah Davis, Emily Smith and Mikela Barlow.

Nova Southeastern scored two more runs in the sixth off a pass ball and Lewis and Steele scored off errors to give GSW a 7-3 victory.

GSW finished with seven hits, seven runs, four RBIs and one error.

Brittany Childs (1-1) pitched seven innings, had two hits, three runs, walked four and struck out two.

The Lady 'Canes host Columbus State in a non-conference double header on Wednesday starting at 2:00 p.m.
