21 and Over

AMERICUS, Ga. -- Georgia Southwestern softball took the first two games of the three game weekend series against PBC newcomer USC Beaufort Friday evening. 

Game 1 W, 13-0

GSW got their offense going early scoring three runs on a sacrifice fly from Katelyn Wood scoring Kimmy Singer on an error from USCB Natalia Herrera made it safely to first base scoring Zoe Willis, Hailey Pinette hit an rbi single to score the final run in the inning. 

The Hurricanes kept swinging in the bottom of the second inning grabbing three more hits and four runs to put them up 7-0 to start the third inning. 

In inning number three the Canes scored five runs collected three hits with one of the hits being a Zoe Willis home run. 

Savanna Bradford had an outstanding pitching performance she went the full five innings giving up three hits and earned her 12th win of the season as she improved to 12-3 overall. 

Game 2 W, 8-0

Similar to game one GSW got their bats going early as they scored two runs on three hits to give them the early lead. 

Izzy Marcotte hit a 2-run home run in the third inning to blow the game wide open for the Canes as they would go on to close out the game and win 8-0.

 GSW will stay home to conclude the three game weekend series with  USC Beaufort (9-27, 2-15) 4:00 p.m. Saturday.
