AMERICUS, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern State University softball team swept a Saturday doubleheader against USC Aiken on Senior Day at Lady Canes Field to improve its record to 21-1 at home this spring.

Game 1 W, 3-2

Before the game, three seniors were honored on Senior Day Catcher Morgan Mullin, Pitcher Hannah Holloway, and outfielder Bailey Christian.

GSW scored first on a solo home run from Natalia Herrera in the bottom of the second inning this was her second home run in consecutive games.

The game was a pitchers duel until the top of the fourth when USC Aiken tied the game with a homerun and gave the Pacers the momentum.

The Hurricanes struck back in the next inning Zoe Willis hit a solo homerun grabbing the lead back for the Canes.

Natalia Herrera hit her second home run of the game that won the game for the Hurricanes she has recorded three home runs in the last two games.

All of the runs generated by GSW were solo home runs defeating USC Aiken 3-2.

Savanna Bradford earned her 15th win of the season tossing a complete seven-inning game surrendering only two runs on five hits.

Game 2 W, 3-0

Unlike game 1 no home runs were hit in the encore GSW again scored first Katelyn Wood got an RBI ground out that scored Kimmy Singer, and Izzy Marcotte hit an RBI single that brought home Zoe Willis.

Natalia Herrera recorded an RBI on an error by Aiken in the fourth inning that sealed the game for GSW.

Hannah Holloway one of the three seniors honored on senior day pitched a gem pitching a complete game shutout while only giving up two hits and striking out six batters and earning her fifth win of the season.

GSW will conclude the three-game weekend series tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. from Lady Canes Field.
