AMERICUS - The third ranked USC Aiken Pacers raced out to an early first half lead that proved to be too much for the Georgia Southwestern Lady Hurricanes to overcome as GSW fell, 84-51, Thursday evening in the Storm Dome.

Aiken guard Daniela Tarailo came out firing in the first half as she scored 14 of USCA's first 16 points as the Pacers raced out to a 16-4 lead just four minutes into the game.

The Pacers' offensive scoring barrage never let up as they used 54 percent shooting (20-37) to take a 51-20 lead going into halftime.

In the second half, Southwestern's offense picked up steam as sophomore forward Kabrina Merriweather scored 16 second half points including 4 of 4 from behind the three point line.

A balanced USCA offensive attack proved to be too much however as the Hurricanes couldn't cut into the first half deficit as the Pacers stayed undefeated on the season, improving their record to 10-0 (3-0 PBC).

Tarailo finished with a game high 26 points as she led four Pacers in double digit scoring.

Reigning PBC Player of the Week Kayla Harris finished with 15 points on the night and sophomore forward Mackenzie Reese chipped in 14 points for the Pacers.

USC Aiken point guard Brittany Hill had a special performance distributing the ball as she finished with a USCA program record 14 assists to just three turnovers.

Merriweather finished the game with a career best 20 points to lead the Lady Hurricanes in scoring.

Junior point guard Stormey Smith produced a career night as she tied personal bests in both points (13) and assists (5).

Georgia Southwestern falls to 2-8 (0-3 PBC) on the year. The Lady 'Canes will be back in action this Saturday as they welcome PBC-newcomer Young Harris to the Storm Dome for a 1:30 p.m. tip.
