LAFAYETTE, La. — The Georgia Southwestern women's basketball team went on the road to Louisiana to take on the reigning Division-1 Sun Belt Conference champions Sunday night. The game was close throughout and filled with runs by both teams.

At the half, GSW and Lousiana Lafayette were tied 29-29, with the Lady Canes being white-hot from three in the first two quarters. They continued to shoot the ball well in the third quarter making a run that would give them an eight-point lead.

The Ragin Cajuns of ULL responded with a run of their own ending the third quarter ahead by three. GSW battled the rest of the fourth quarter and had the lead with 16 seconds left eyeing an upset over Louisiana Lafayette. Louisiana-Lafayette made two free throws with 15 seconds left gave the Ragin Cajuns the lead that they would hold onto to end the Lady Canes upset bid.
