Lady Canes Sweep Albany State

AMERICUS, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern women's basketball completed their season sweep of the Albany State Golden Rams on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Canes key to victory was a stifling defense that gave up 37 points two more than the program record for fewest allowed. The Golden Rams were held to 11.1% shooting from three and 28% overall. The Lady Canes forced 23 turnovers and move to 6-1 on the season.

In the first quarter, a tight contest seemed to be brewing as the Lady Canes were leading by just one. GSW came into the second quarter and dominated outscoring the Golden Rams 15-4 in the quarter and taking a 12 point lead into halftime. The Golden Rams put up a fight in the third keeping the GSW lead at just 13. The Lady Canes were just too much however put the Golden Rams away winning the fourth by 12 points and broke it open finishing with a 25 point win.

The Lady Canes look to continue their hot start on Mon. December 13th at home against Brewton-Parker College at 5:30 P.M.12/13
