Lady Canes Get Another Comeback Win Over Young Harris

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern women's basketball team defeated Young Harris College on Saturday night for their eighth win in Peach Belt play. The Lady Canes for the second game in a row made a second-half comeback to get the victory. Young Harris jumped out in front early and had the Lady Canes down 23-9 late in the first quarter, one of GSW's largest deficits of the season. GSW changed the direction of the game in the second quarter cutting the former 14 point Young Harris lead down to six at halftime. 

The Lady Canes struggled shooting the three during the game which allowed Young Harris to stretch the six-point lead into eight to start the fourth quarter. The fourth quarter was all Lady Canes as Jacquelyn Levay hit a three-pointer to start the scoring the GSW and then Kayla Langley and Ava Jones lead the charge from there. GSW outscored the Mountain Lions 27-16 in the fourth and took the lead after trailing since early in the first quarter. Kayla Langley had 20 points with seven rebounds, shooting 75% from the field for the game. Ava Jones scored 24 points had four steals and spread the ball around, having eight assists the most for the program since 2019 and second-most since 2016. 

GSW will next host Clayton State on Wednesday night at the Storm Dome.
