Make it a Dozen! 12-0 at Home After Win Over Georgia College

AMERICUS, Ga.– The Georgia Southwestern women's basketball team extended its home winning streak to a dozen with a 66-63 victory against Georgia College & State University on Saturday evening in the Storm Dome. 

The Hurricanes won a close game despite a strong fourth quarter from Georgia College outscoring the Hurricanes, 19-8.

Ava Jones had another big game for the Hurricanes as she recorded a double-double and tied her season high scoring 21 points. Jones was one of two Lady Hurricanes to finish in double figures in scoring, along with Jacquelyn Levay who put up 15 points and shot 4-for-9 from the field. 

GSW improved to 19-4 overall on the season and 11-3 in Peach Belt Conference Play. The Lady Hurricanes maintain a two-game lead atop the standings after Wednesday's contests.

Next Up

Georgia Southwestern will be on the road as they face Columbus State (14-8, 8-6 PBC) for the second half of their two-game season series. The Hurricanes defeated the Cougars 85-80 in the Storm Dome the teams will tip off at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
