Hurricanes Lose Close to Clayton State

AMERICUS, Ga.– The Georgia Southwestern State University women's basketball had its winning streak snapped as they lost to Clayton State 61-60 at the Storm Dome Wednesday night 

The Hurricanes had four players score double digits despite the loss to Clayton State. Ava Jones had an all around great performance scoring 14 points, getting five rebounds, she added four steals, as well as three blocks, and ended her nights shooting 45 percent from the field.

Jolicia Williams had a solid game scoring 14 points grabbing four boards, and added four steals. 

Kayla Langley added 12 points, and seven rebounds to the stat column and Destiny Garrett had 10 points and three rebounds.

GSW fell behind early being down as much as 16 points they never gave up and nearly came from behind to defeat Clayton State.

GSW falls to 21-5 (13-4) on the season and suffers their fourth loss in the PBC Clayton State wins the season series. However, the Lady Hurricanes are still atop the PBC after Wednesday's contests.
