Lady Canes Fall to #3 Catawba 78-68

AMERICUS, Ga. – The Georgia Southwestern women's basketball team suffers their first loss of the new season falling to #3 Catawba College 78-68

A pair of Lady Hurricanes scored in double digits. Senior Destiny Garrett scored 14 points and collected three steals. Garrett was one point away from tieing her career high in points (15). Newcomer Jashanti Simmons also scored 14 points and made 75 percent of her shots from the field and hauled in seven rebounds. 

GSW kept the game close in the first half the Hurricanes only trailed by six points, Catawba had the momentum in the second half and outscored the Canes 42-38.
