Lady 'Canes Downed On Senior Day, 6-0

AMERICUS - Young Harris College scored three goals in the first half and added three more in the second to pick up their first Peach Belt Conference win of the season and cruise past Georgia Southwestern, 6-0, on Saturday afternoon at Hurricane Field.   

Whitney Thomas led the Mountain Lions with a pair of scores. Candace Edwards added a goal and two assists for Young Harris (4-9, 1-6 PBC).

YHC finished with a 17-6 shots on goal advantage and 10-4 margin in corner kicks.

GSW keeper Kendal Baskin saved nine shots. Yustin Nambo saved three for YHC before making way for Taylor Erickson, who saved one over the final 23:47.

The Lady Hurricanes recognized their two seniors, Julia Wells and Courtney Simpson, prior to kickoff.

Southwestern (0-13-1, 0-7-1 PBC) travels to Clayton State on Wednesday for a 5 p.m. match.
