No. 4 Columbus State Rolls Past Lady Hurricanes

COLUMBUS - There was little the Georgia Southwestern women's soccer team could do to slow down 4th-ranked Columbus State on Wednesday evening as the Lady Cougars scored three times in the opening 4:15 and handed GSW a 9-0 loss in Peach Belt Conference action at the Walden Soccer Complex.

CSU (9-0-1, 5-0 PBC) extended its current winning streak to six matches behind two goals from Kelsey Pelletier. The Lady Cougars shared the wealth as seven different players accounted for the remaining seven goals.

The Lady Cougars led 7-0 at the halftime break and finished the match with a 14-1 shots on goal advantage and a 10-0 edge in corner kicks.

Kendal Baskin started as goalkeeper for the Lady Hurricanes and saved one shot during her 22 minutes of action. Chelsee Wright played the rest of the way between the pipes for GSW and saved four.

Things don't get much easier for GSW (0-11, 0-5 PBC) as No. 11 North Georgia comes to Americus on Saturday for a 1 p.m. match.
