Lady 'Canes Step It Up In Second Half

GREENVILLE, S.C.- The Georgia Southwestern women's soccer team allowed two goals in the first half and one in the second to take a 3-0 loss to North Greenville University Wednesday evening at Pepsi Stadium.

The Crusaders first goal came 10:33 into the first half and the second goal just six minutes after. The Lady 'Canes were able to hold off North Greenville the last 29 minutes heading into the second half two goals behind.

GSW stepped it up in the second half playing tough defense and only allowed one goal to pass through with 12 minutes remaining to take the 3-0 loss.

GSW keeper Emily Jones made back-to-back saves and a few diving saves to keep the Lady 'Canes net clear. Jones played all 90 minutes and recorded 8 saves and faced 11 shots on goal.

Jessica Bingham and Ella Hawkins both had shots on goal for the Lady 'Canes.

The ladies travel to Pembroke, N.C. Saturday to face UNC Pembroke at 1 p.m. for their first conference game.
