PEMBROKE, N.C.- Six goals in the first half claimed the win for the UNC Pembroke women's soccer team over Georgia Southwestern Saturday afternoon at Varsity Grounds.

The Braves first goal came 2:39 into the first half from inside the box. Their next two goals were identical and one minute apart. Both goals were off a header by J. Senecal-Guzman off an assist from Mackenzie Wright. The fourth goal came at the 39:14 mark and the fifth at the 40:57 mark. With 51 seconds to go the Braves scored goal number six.

The Lady 'Canes played a tougher defense in the second half only allowing one goal to take a 7-0 loss. GSW's overall record is now 1-3 and 0-1 in the Peach Belt Conference, UNC Pembroke is now 1-4 overall and 1-0 in the PBC..

Elyse Gowen started in net for the Lady 'Canes and faced 14 shots on goal. She made eight saves and allowed six goals. Emily Jones played the second half and faced 10 shots on goal, made nine saves and allowed one goals.

The Lady 'Canes are on the road Wednesday to play Toccoa Falls at 7:00 p.m.
