Flagler Runs Past Lady Canes to Victory

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- The Georgia Southwestern women's soccer team dropped a tough, 9-0 conference battle to Flagler College this afternoon at Saints Field. Today's match was originally scheduled for Wednesday (10/10) but was moved up a day because of threatening weather from Hurricane Michael.

GSW's (2-10, 0-6 PBC) lone shot on goal came from Ella Hawkins, as all of the Lady Canes played the full 90 minutes in today's match. Goalkeeper Hannah Morrone had five saves on the day.

On the other end, Flagler (7-2-1, 5-1-1 PBC) scored their first goal in the fifth minute and never looked back. The Saints put up a total of 21 shots with 14 of them landing on goal. Flagler's Charlene Nowotny and Sara Sandberg led the bunch with two goals each, as Nowotny also led her team with four assists.
