AMERICUS, Ga. -- After a scoreless first-half, two late second-half goals were the only difference as Emmanuel College (Ga.) left Hurricane Field with a 2-0 win over the Georgia Southwestern women's soccer team Wednesday evening.
The Lions held the Lady Hurricanes to only two first half shots but instead, was outshot by GSW in the second half, 7-4. EC (8-4) finished the night with a 13-9 shot advantage as well as a 5-3 shot on goal advantage.
In the 65th minute, EC's Hannah Logue put Emmanuel on the board first when she got ahold of a lose ball inside the box and found the back of the net with it. In the 88th minute, Hannah Morrone and her teammate collided right inside the box as Lion's Lochlain Corliss snuck past them for an easy score to give them the final 2-0 win.
Emmanuel was led by Corliss, who finished with five shots while Logue ended with three. Both teams finished with three saves each.
