Women's Soccer Picked to Finish 11th in PBC

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern women's soccer team tabbed 12 points as they were picked to finish 11th in the Peach Belt Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, released today by the league. 

The Lady Hurricanes finished their 2019 season 3-13-2, 0-10-1 in PBC as they tied 0-0 in double-overtime to USC Aiken. GSW returns 15 players, including eight starters and nine newcomers. The Lady Hurricanes return leading scorers Payton Johnson (4g, 2a), Geraldine Alvarez (1g, 3a) and Laura Duran Blanco (2g) alongside goal keeper Hannah Morrone, who played in over 1,670 minutes in 17 games. 

First year head coach Chris Cogan begins his stint on February 1st at home against Francis Marion to start the delayed 2020 season and will play a full conference schedule this spring with 10 conference games, culminating in the PBC Tournament on April 6 and April 10. There is no NCAA postseason this year.

The preseason coaches poll is below along with the preseason All-Conference team.  Each was selected by the league's head coaches who were not permitted to rank their own teams in the poll or vote for their own players for the All-Conference team.
