AMERICUS, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern State University women's soccer team sent the home fans home happy as they defeated Peach Belt Conference foe Clayton State 2-1 in the teams final home match of the season.

One of the weirdest occurrences in a soccer match GSW took a 1-0 lead in the first half on a goal that they didn't score, in a wild play, the Lakers scored a goal against themselves off a GSW corner kick.

The Lakers came out firing in the second half tieing the game in the first four minutes.

The Lady Hurricanes added another goal and went up 2-1 on another unusual occurrence the Lakers scored against themselves for the second time in the match, this time off a free kick. GSW would go on and win 2-1.

No Lady Hurricanes players were credited with goals in the match as GSW got a much-needed home victory. It was the program's first-ever win over Clayton State. GSW matched their program high for PBC wins in a season and set a new best for most points in the conference standings.

Alana Beddow saved four shots and was very solid between the pipes for the Canes.
