Kerry Edwards returns for her second season as head coach of the Lady Hurricanes after a groundbreaking season in 2021.  It was Coach Edwards' first season as a head coach and her first season with Georgia Southwestern (7-8-1, 2-7-1).  Under Edwards guidance, GSW broke the school record for most wins in season by winning three more matches than the previous high, while playing in five fewer contests. The 2021 Lady Hurricanes are the first team in school history to compete in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament. Edwards also produced the first PBC Player of the Week in program history.

Prior to GSW, Edwards enjoyed successful stops, both as a coach and a player.

She played her college soccer at Dallas Baptist University, where she led DBU to three NCAA Tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2011. She finished her career second in the Division II record books with 48 NCAA career shutouts, and third almost 8,000 minutes in net. She was named All-Heartland Conference and All-South Central Region in each of her four seasons, and was a two-time NCCAA All-American, as well.

Edwards began her collegiate coaching career at Southwest Oklahoma State University in 2015 as a graduate assistant. The Bulldogs boasted 11 shutouts as a team and had a 1.19 GAA, while going 13-6-1 overall and 8-3-1 in the Great American Conference, which placed them third in the league standings.

Edwards spent the 2016 season at the University of North Alabama as a graduate assistant prior to taking a position as an assistant coach with the University of South Alabama in 2017 season. While at South Alabama Edwards coached the goalkeepers who led the conference in shutouts and boasted a .93 goals against average, not allowing a single goal in the conference tournament. The 2017 Jags also won their conference, and conference tournament making an NCAA tournament appearance.

She returned to North Alabama in 2018 and 2019 coaching the goalkeepers where she helped transition the team from NCAA DII to NCAA DI. In the 2018 season Edwards coached the goalkeepers to seven shutouts and a 1.15 GAA, helping the team make the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament final.

Under the restrictions of COVID-19 in 2020, Edwards worked remotely for the Northwestern State University women's soccer team. Her primary responsibilities included scouting opponents, analyzing and breaking down game film along with consulting about practice planning and tactical development.

Edwards hails from McKinney, Texas.
