GSW at .500 after a pair of PBC losses

The Georgia Southwestern women's tennis team dropped a pair of Peach Belt Conference matches over the weekend at the Susan K. Smith Tennis Complex to fall to 4-4 overall and 0-3 in PBC play this spring.  The Lady ‘Canes lost, 6-3, to Montevallo on Saturday and, 9-0, to No. 10 Clayton State on Sunday.

The Lady 'Canes tennis team fell to Montevallo on Saturday afternoon.

In singles, GSW's Leady Cuellar cruised past Kristi Kelly 6-4, 6-0 at No. 1 and Monica Osam defeated Emily Blackward 2-6, 6-4, 6-1 at No. 4.

Cuellar and Lauren Grogan won in doubles at No. 1 against Kelly and Blackward 8-1.

The Southwestern girls dropped their conference match with No. 10 Clayton State, 9-0, Sunday afternoon.

Clayton State swept the Lady 'Canes in all aspects of the match.

GSW's best showing came from Cuellar who lost to Katie White at No. 1 singles 6-2, 6-3.

Southwestern's next match is Friday at Shorter at 2:00 p.m.
