Hicks Steps Down as Men's Basketball CoachMay 01, 2019GSW Director of Athletics Mike Leeder announced on Thursday that Ben Hicks has stepped down from his position as head men's basketball coach after three seasons, citing personal reasons. Hicks plans to pursue professional opportunities closer to his hometown of Phenix City, Ala.

The Hurricanes swatted away a season-best seven shots and followed up their lowest turnover total of the season (5) with a six turnover effort.

Hurricanes Lose at Columbus StateJanuary 16, 2019Senior Devin Watson led all scorers with 21 points, but the GSW men's basketball team was unable to overcome an early deficit and suffered a 86-75 loss Wednesday evening in the Lumpkin Center. Watson hit on 5 of 10 attempts from 3-point range and led the Hurricanes with three steals.

Howard Shines in Hurricanes LossJanuary 12, 2019Freshman Grant Howard turned in the best performance of his young collegiate career, but the GSW men's basketball team was unable to overcome Young Harris College in the closing minutes and suffered a 100-97 loss Saturday afternoon in the Storm Dome. Howard scored 20 points and was the team leader in rebounds (8) and assists (8).

Road Woes ContinueJanuary 09, 2019The GSW men's basketball team was outscored 18-8 over the final 5:56 Wednesday morning and dropped a 70-60 decision to Georgia College in the Centennial Center. In front of 4,628 fans on Education Day, GSW was 1 of 10 from beyond the arc in the second half and Georgia College had 10 more steals (11-1) and seven more assists (9-2) over the final 20 minutes.
