ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla -- The No. 16 Georgia Southwestern golf team carded a total score of 879 (+15), finishing in 10th place to wrap up their first spring tournament of the year. The Hurricanes carded a 20-over Round 3 card to end the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate, played at the par 72, 7,136 St. Johns Country and Golf Club.
After finishing day one in seventh place, GSW went up the leaderboard to third place but eventually finished in 10th place with a tough Round 3. The Hurricanes finished with one eagle and was third in the tournament with 48 birdies.
Saksit Jairak finished in 24th place with a total score of 219 (+3). Chase McLain, who shot a 68 in round 2, finished just one par out in 29th place with a 220(+4) score. Jaxson Daskalos and Simon Estrada both carded a 223 (+7), finishing tied in 49th place while Payne Sells carded a 224 (+8) and finished in 54th place. McLain was the sole Hurricane who eagled in round 2.
Hosts No. 2 Lincoln Memorial was the winning team with a final score of 837 (-20). No. 9 West Florida (850,-14) took home second while No. 21 Limestone and Anderson (S.C.) both tied for third place with a score of 866 (+2). Lander rounded out the top five with an 868 +4 final score.
The Hurricanes will host their own tournamnet, the Hurricane Invitational, Feb. 22-23 at the Doublegate Country Club in Albany, Ga.
