GSW Ranked 5th In National Preseason Poll, Runs Top 25 Streak to 41

NORMAN, Okla. -- The Georgia Southwestern State University men's golf team enters the 2024-25 season ranked fifth in the country according to the Preseason Bushnell/Golfweek NCAA Division II Coaches Poll released Friday by the Golf Coaches Association of America. The Hurricanes received one first place vote and extended their current streak to 41 consecutive GCAA polls in the Top 25.

GSW returns two of its top five golfers from last season, Joao Costa and Mateo Quiroga, in addition to 2023 All-American Nicolas Escobar, who returns from injury after missing all of last season.

The Hurricanes open the fall portion of their schedule on Sept. 9, with a trip to Monticello Golf Club in McCormick, S.C. for the Bearcat Fall Invitational hosted by Lander University.
