EL DORADO, Ark. -- The 10th-ranked Georgia Southwestern men's golf team posted a 295 (+7) on Tuesday to cruise to their second team championship of the spring, claiming the title in their first appearance at the 13-team Arkansas Collegiate Invitational hosted by Southern Arkansas University at the challenging par-72, 7,111-yard Mystic Creek Golf Club, ranked the No. 1 course in Arkansas by Golfweek. All five GSW golfers finished in the top 12 of the 70-player field. 

Joao Costa earned a trip to the playoff to decided the individual champion after finishing with a 5-over par 221 total. Costa lost the playoff and had to settle for a runner-up finish. He played the par-5 holes at 4-under for the week, which led the field by two strokes. Sam Brown made the Hurricanes largest jump on the final day, moving up nine slots on the leaderboard with a 3-under par 69, which tied for the lowest round of the tournament. Brown and teammate Felipe Gomez finished a stroke behind the leaders with a 6-over par to tie for third place. Rounding out the scoring for GSW on the individual leaderboard were Nicolas Escobar and Davis Aaron tied for 12th place with a 13-over.     

GSW topped the hosts, Southern Arkansas, by 22 strokes. No. 22 Harding University was in third place, 30 strokes back. 

The Hurricanes have a week off before returning to action on April 7, for the Argonaut Invitational hosted by the University of West Florida at Pensacola Country Club in Pensacola, Fla.
