AMERICUS, Ga. – The Georgia Southwestern State University men's golf team continues to solidify its place among the nation's elite, checking in at No. 5 in the latest Bushnell/Golfweek Division II Coaches Poll released October 10 by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
The Hurricanes, who have now been ranked in 51 consecutive national polls, remain a fixture in the top tier of Division II golf after opening the 2025-26 season with strong performances in the fall. GSW has spent all three polls this season inside the top six, including a preseason No. 6 ranking and a No. 3 mark in the first regular-season release.
West Florida reclaimed the top spot in the latest poll with 14 first-place votes, followed by North Georgia, Florida Southern, Lee, and Georgia Southwestern rounding out the top five. Central Oklahoma, Grand Valley State, Lander, Wingate, and Columbus State completed the top 10.
This marks the 24th straight poll in which GSW has been ranked among the nation's top 10 and the 14th time in the last 18 polls the Hurricanes have appeared inside the top five.
GSW has been a model of consistency in Division II, earning national rankings in every poll since the spring of 2021 and holding a spot inside the top 12 in each poll dating back to May 2022.
The Hurricanes most recently competed at the National Preview, which concluded Oct. 7 at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder Creek, Nev., where they finished eighth in a 17-team field stacked with six nationally-ranked programs.
GSW closes out the fall portion of its schedule next week at the Golfweek Fripp Island to Bermuda Invite at Fripp Island - Ocean Point Course in Fripp Island, S.C.
