AUGUSTA, Ga. – Weeks after the Georgia Southwestern Lady Hurricanes received Peach Belt All-Conference honors (Mason Moreland, Second Team), it was time for two more Lady 'Canes to receive conference accolades. Senior Gabby Buck and sophomore Erin Vick were both named to the PBC All-Academic Team.

For Buck (3.86 GPA - Early Childhood Education), it's another great accomplishment in her stellar career. This year's All-Academic award is the third time the Sharpsburg native has received the conference's All-Academic award. She has also been a three-time PBC Presidential Honor Roll member and is on-pace to make the list again in her senior year.

All of these tremendous awards away from the field just reinforce the stellar career Gabby Buck had on the field. The four-year starter will leave as the program's all-time leader in hits, doubles, home runs, runs batted in, runs scored and career appearances. The Peach Belt Conference has also noticed Buck's performance on the field as she has twice been named to PBC All-Conference teams as a freshman and sophomore.

Sophomore Erin Vick receives her first All-Academic award in the first year she has been eligible to do so. Vick (3.44 GPA – Exercise Science) is also the head of Georgia Southwestern's Student Athlete Advisory Council. Her brother, GSW Soccer's Ethan Vick, has also received numerous academic awards including being a Capitol One Academic All-District Team member and a repeat Peach Belt All-Academic  Team member.

Vick was a versatile member of the Lady Hurricane pitching staff. As a starter and a reliever, she led the team in earned run average with a 1.34 ERA. Vick also appeared in the GSW lineup as a designated player in the later part of the season.

This pair of Hurricanes makes it three consecutive seasons that Georgia Southwestern Softball has placed Lady 'Canes on the PBC All-Academic Team. Nine Lady Hurricanes have been named to the conference's All-Academic team over the course of those three years.
