Game 1 W, 7-6
Zoe Willis had a solid performance behind the plate going 3-for-3 with a home run and adding 6 RBIS. She also had a good pitching performance as she went 4.1 innings allowed two runs, and struck out four batters.
Game 2 W, 4-1
Georgia Southwestern State softball trailed in the game until the bottom of the third inning when Kimmy Singer jolted the offense with a single and a stolen base. Singer finished the game 2-for-3 and and a stolen base.
After two Hurricanes walks Katelyn Wood hit a grand-slam to put the canes out in front 4-1 and the score would not change for the rest of the game.
Savana Bradford had a great game on the mound pitching a complete game allowing one run and striking out seven batters.
The Hurricanes will be in Columbus, Ga as they compete in the NFCA Division II Leadoff Classic. First game 10:00 a.m. Friday from South Commons Softball Complex.
