Rogers Named PBC Tournament MVP; Watson, Banks, Aldridge Receive All-Tournament Honors

DAHLONEGA, Ga. -- Following an unprecedented Peach Belt Conference Tournament run that included victories over the top three seeds, Georgia Southwestern State University received multiple individual awards on Saturday, including the tournament Most Valuable Player award presented to first baseman Ashlyn Rogers. GSW also garnered three of the nine spots on the All-Tournament Team with awards presented to center fielder Madison Banks, designated player Cooper Watson and left fielder Malone Aldridge

Rogers went 6-for-10 at the plate over the weekend (.600) with four home runs and seven runs batted in. She blasted three over the wall in the championship game. Rogers had an on-base percentage of .667 and an eye-opening slugging percentage of 1.800 in three games.

Banks was 6-for-12 over the tournament with one RBI, but it was perhaps the most important run of the season for the Lady Hurricanes as GSW trailed 6-5 with two outs in the seventh inning of its opener against Georgia College when Banks delivered. It was the only time GSW came up to bat trailing in the entire weekend.

Watson hit .429 (3-for-7) with a home run and five RBI. The 2025 All-PBC First Team selection was walked five times.

Aldridge hit .444 (4-for-9) with a double, an RBI and four walks.

All three position players made big defensive plays during the tournament as well. The trio of Rogers, Banks and Aldridge accounted for 40 putouts and only one error.
